Filters in the Trial Balance

You can add, update, and delete filters while in an engagement and viewing the trial balance.

Types of Filters

You can apply the following types of filters to the columns in the Financial and Tax trial balance:

  • Text Filters: Used for columns with alphanumeric values (e.g., Account Number, Account Name).

  • Number Filters: Used for columns with numeric values (e.g., Balance, Unadjusted).

  • Set Filters: Used for columns with fixed values (e.g., Type, Class).

Applying Filters

To apply a filter to a column in a trial balance view, follow these steps:

  1. In an engagement, navigate to the trial balance page.

  2. Select the trial balance tab (Financial or Tax) where you want to apply a filter.

  3. Hover over the column name until the hamburger menu appears, then click it.

  4. Select the Filter Icon from the popup to access filter options.

  5. Choose the Filter Type from the filter dropdown.

  6. Enter the desired value to complete the filter (if applicable).

  7. Click Apply.

Note: You will initially be on the default view for each trial balance

Additional Filter Options

  • Apply Multiple Filters: Users can apply filters on different columns simultaneously for a more granular view of the trial balance.

  • Reset Filters: Users can reset the filter conditions applied to a column by clicking the Reset button in the Filter options.

  • Save Filters: Users can save the applied filters as part of Trial Balance Views for easy retrieval.

Note: Filters will be saved and remain applied to the trial balance until you change or remove them.
